Class

There’s no need to be nervous about your first Zumba class. Just enjoy the music and start to move! I try to pick the most irresistible songs I can find that will get you grooving. Each song has its own set of steps. The choreography is simple and once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to add your own style and pick up the intensity.

apc4CLASS It may take a few weeks to “get” the salsa beat or control your hips to really move to a samba, so it is important to be patient and just focus on moving and enjoying yourself. Zumba does not use a lot of verbal cuing so we really want you to get into the music and feel where the changes in steps will come. The songs range from intense reggaetons to sultry bachatas. After a quick hour of dancing and exercising, you will leave feeling invigorated, happy, and motivated to come back next week.

The variety of cultures and styles represented in Zumba’s music and dance steps sets the tone for the class. All are welcome and appreciated here– any age, gender, fitness level or dance experience. We can’t wait for you to join us!

What to bring

The rooms we use have wood dance floors which are perfect for Zumba. You should wear athletic shoes or dance sneakers. Shoes that allow you to slide and twist a little will help prevent joint injuries. You can also try putting some masking tape on the soles at the ball of your foot. Bare feet not recommended.

Drinking fountains are available at all locations but it’s nice to have your own bottle. You may also like a small towel. Dress in any clothes comfortable for exercising. Bathrooms at all locations.
