Sonoma Zumba

the spot for Zumba fitness and fun in Santa Rosa!

As featured in the Press Democrat, Zumba, an "exuberant dance/workout" is all about fun (with effective calorie-burning and inherent hipness the welcome secondary benefits). Read the article here. Also check out this article featuring our local Santa Rosa instructors about Zumba and other types dance fitness,

My name is Tina and I have had the privilege of teaching Zumba for over 4 years here in Santa Rosa. At this site, you will find information about my classes, as well as plenty of other Zumba-related tidbits that you can take with you to any class led by my friends and colleagues.

I teach and sub Zumba at gyms around Sonoma County. However, if you are not a gym member and looking for a low-commitment, budget-friendly option, consider the Zumba classes at Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks' Finley Community Center. The four-week sessions are convenient and a great way to give Zumba a try. And, thanks to the City of Santa Rosa's commitment to a healthy community, these Zumba classes are irresistibly priced too. Don't think the bargain price means bargain quality! Zumba at Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks is as energizing and effective as anywhere else, all in a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Classes at the start of the year usually fill up quickly. If you'd like to join us, be sure to register early. If this is your first time, it is easiest to visit the front desk at Finley Center to sign up. See the Schedule page for more info.

So what is Zumba? Please read on....
Zumba is a fitness class but it feels more like a party. Leave the day's worries at the door and come on in! Based on Latin dance steps, this incredibly fun exercise class utilizes a range of high, low and moderate intensity songs to gain the benefits of an interval workout. The music is what makes the class unique and is selected from a variety of Latin and world styles-- both timeless classics and the latest hits.

Zumba moves are a combination of classic dance steps, current popular moves, and toning/strength exercises. You will be grooving to salsa, samba, cumbia, reggaeton, cha cha cha and much more. This variety of movements burns calories, improves metabolism and cardiovascular fitness, plus develops strength, flexibility and balance--in other words, a healthy body for you.
